At least fifteen printings issued (ending with the 97th Printing).**
With the 33rd Printing,*** minor cover changes were introduced:
– the price was moved from the front to the back cover
– adverts were added to the back of the front cover
– a solid black box with white border was added beneath the price on the spine
Book Club Editions (as well as trade editions) have been seen for the 20th, 25th, 27th, 29th, 31st and 33rd Printings (some of these lack bar codes on their back covers).
RRP: $5.99; $6.99 with the 33rd Printing. Sold in a set with The Hobbit, The Two Towers and The Return of the King.
